a well worth $6.50.

Letters from Iwo Jima is a great movie.

I think the message Clint Eastwood (old chap.) is trying to send out to the audience is that not all the Japanese who took part in the war wanted to fight for their country, and not all of them are evil and like to torture the POWs. Similarly, it is also trying to say that the Americans, though dubbed the 'saviours' of the world in WWII, were not entirely good-hearted and kind (as thought by the Japanese soldiers who surrendered to the Americans).

Actually there are a lot of media that tries to portray different perspectives of the war from different types of people. If you are a Fort Minor fan, you may have come across this song named "Kenji". It is one song that depicts the story of a Japanese living in America during the war period.

Go listen.

Letters from Iwo Jima

Haha.
Ah Kiat, as usual, did very morbit things again for the fun of it...
He must be excited over the blood-gushing-out part when the americans blasted the Japanese.
It's quite a nice movie but it does not have a real climax.
However, at least it showed us how it is really like in a battle field;
The inevitability of death as a soldier and he cannot run away from it;
The pain experienced by the civilians and the soldiers' families.
I could feel the pain when the soldiers sacrificed themselves for their country.
It was a touching movie but it carried some ironic ideas and some humour.
I was quite surprised that it was not very pro-Japanese even though it was filmed in the perspective of the Japanese of World War II.

Oh ya, class, please remember to sign off your name at the end of the entry that you've posted.

word of the day

the word of the day...

malapropism \mal-uh-PROP-iz-uhm\, noun:
The usually unintentionally humorous misuse of a word, especially by confusion with one of similar sound; also, an example of such misuse.

IT fair...

Today, some of us went to Sun Tec City to watch the letter from Iwo Jima.. The movie is supposed to be sad.. However, sze kiat end up laughing all the way.. Saddist!!!

Before the movie, the guys went to the IT fair as we reached Sun Tec quite early... The IT fair was REALLY big and crowded! We saw PS3 there! REALLY cool.. We even planed to rob the guy who bought it on the spot , but we were too kind and did not do it in the end.. However, we saw somethings that has no link with the IT fair there! A STAR WAR CHARACTER! I forgot what is his name.. His face is ugly , but i love his lightsaber!!! So nice~!

The dumb Sze kiat.. Haha

The person with the lightsaber!!!

CNY Visit from Mrs Lee's house

Copied from my blog

Here's a superduper long entry about 4b'den 07! 's visit to Mrs Lee's House...

Before I begin I wanna apologise to all because I had arranged to meet Elizabeth & Janice at JE Mrt Station at 12.50pm, but Eliz&I were waiting for Janice who was buying her pants. AHEM* I arrived at 12.30pm, and I waited 1 hour. *coughsjaniceahyoucoughs*

Okay anyway we made our way to Senja, and met up with the CO girls who were already waiting for us at the bus stop there. Mrs Lee's house was a 2-storey apartment that's frigging nice.

Our oranges. "No orange cannot enter ah!"
Mrs Lee serving us snacks&drinks. Note the ecstasy written all over on Khong Lim's face.
Kah Lok Maria the Maid.
Er Ning having a peaceful moment by the window.

Echoed in Unison by 4B'den 2007!
After the house visit, Hui Min, Norine, SK, YYC, Kah Han, Janice and I went to JEC, with the intention to play pool. Hui Min & Norine left after a while when we realised that some of us couldn't play because we're under 16 (Except me jan and sk). In the end Kah Han, YYC, SK, Janice and I had dinner and we went to watch Just follow Law.
Muthu is damn funny.

Hello everyone!!!

This is my first post!
I would like to wish Abel, Li rui and Janice good luck on their speech next week.
(Haha, you all got sabotaged by us!)

I would also like to ask a very important question:
Can I have the photos taken at Mrs Lee house? Please post the pictures here or send it to me. Thank You.

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Dear 4B,

Apologies my absence from school on Wednesday & Thursday.

This is an important message that goes out to the 3 brave souls who have been nominated by the class to share during our morning assembly sessions. We will start with Abel on Monday, Li Rui on Tuesday and Janice ending it off nicely on Friday. I wasn't able to get in touch with either of you on Friday so I am crossing my fingers and hoping that you are an avid reader of this *ever so exciting* (NOT!) and *frequently updated* (DOUBLE NOT!!) blog. Either that, or one of your friendly and helpful classmates could forward this message on my behalf.

Anyways, I think I have rambled on long enough and I kind of regret that my first post here has to come in the form of an announcement or a reminder. Will drop by again soon with less pedantic stuff.

Regards,
Ni Men Qing Ai De Ying Wen Lao Shi
